Governor Obiano says his administration would sustain its efforts at forstering peaceful co-existence between Communities in Anambra and border states.
Governor Obiano made this known after a closed door meeting he held at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia with the Deputy-governor of Enugu State, Mrs Ceicelia Ezeilo and the Director General, National Boundary Commission, Abuja, Mr Mohammed Ahmed.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, Governor Obiano said with the level of commitment and cooperation shown by his administration and the present Enugu government, there is hope that the disagreements will be resolved soon, despite having lingered for a long period of time.
The governor further revealed that some proactive strategies were adopted during the meeting to drive the resolution of the boundary problems, key among which is the active involvement of the communities involved in the process.
On his part, the Director General of the Commission, Mr Ahmed represented by the Commission's Director of Internal Boundaries, Dr Adamu Adaji who revealed that efforts to resolve the boundary issues have been quelled since 2012, thanked Governor Obiano and his Enugu Counterpart, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for showing genuine interest in resolving the matter and solicited the support of the affected communities towards putting an end to the hostilities.
